Driver killed when coal truck overturns at Massey site

A coal hauling truck overturned at the Massey Energy Co.  mine site in West Virginia killing the worker that was driving.

According to officials, the truck overturned at 5:30 p.m. in Scarbro. Federal mine investigators are looking into an accident and believe that the cause is icy roads and faulty brakes in the truck.

The worker was a contractor for Medford Trucking. Massey is working to ensure that its roads where materials are hauled are safe.
