Man injured in accident in Washington County

A West Virginia man was injured in a car accident in Washington County on Monday night.

The 44-year-old man was traveling on Route 22 when his vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle driven by a 19-year-old male. Both drivers exited the vehicles along with two passengers that were in the second vehicle and an altercation began.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene they found the 44-year-old man suffering from a head injury. A woman that claimed to be a relative of the victim said that he was injured in the accident. TheĀ  man was transported to the hospital in serious condition and the details of the accident are still being investigated.

Police identify man killed in car accident

A pursuit that began in West Virginia after a traffic stop ended with one man dead in a reckless driving car accident.

A 39-year-old man left the scene after police pulled him over for a traffic stop. The man continued to travel on U.S. 340 and traveled through three different counties before his vehicle swerved, hit a curb and left the roadway.

The vehicle then struck a utility pole and another parked car before coming to a rest in front of a fence. Officials are continuing to investigate the accident.

Two-vehicle crash leaves two dead

Two people are believed dead following a two-vehicle reckless-driving related crash on Interstate 79 today around 11:30 a.m.

A white Buick sedan was headed northbound in a southbound lane near the Star City exit on the highway when it smashed into a red Kia Sorento, said Monongalia County Sheriff’s deputies.

As of now, the condition of the two drivers is unknown. Police report that the ambulance called to the scene remained there, suggesting that both drivers were killed.

The highway will remain closed for at least several hours.
