Oil and gas industry may sue OSHA over new rule

The oil and gas industry is upset by the new requirement set in place by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration that states that all oil and gas industry workers must wear flame resistant clothing on well drilling rigs.
A large industry group, the Association of Energy Service Companies is looking into its options to fight this new rule because it may cost the industry up to $50 million to implement and $100 million after that. Major oil industry groups have sent a letter to OSHA expressing their concern because they feel that the rule is too extensive.
